Ywikunarin

We have been asked to seed Ywikūnarin of Pluriversity Umunukunu following the guidelines given by the Kadukwu of Kwarte Umuke by Mamu Arwawiku Izquierdo Torres, and the kadukwo of Nawaku by Mamu Felix Villafaña Luquez

Ywikūnarin of Pluriversity Umunukunu is a space that connects with the heart of the world and the Iku people from Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, to weave a Tutu for learning Earth knowledges in and from the Netherlands and beyond. To create a space for meeting between different knowledges, to weave between territories, countries, cultures and in between worlds, and with all who want to remember who we are with Earth, to heal her and protect her.

Ywikūnarin of Pluriversity Umunukunu is woven by people who are committed to recognize and protect the territories with their living thoughts, we acknowledge the sacred spaces for life.  We want to learn participate and reflect on Earth-knowledges and earth worlds practices. We return to understanding Earth as a living entity. and we seek to heal by restoring the balance acknowledging the ancestral relationality of Earth knowledges and all living beings.

We learn with elder siblings to root our thinking with the living territories to heal Mother Earth. We learn with the guidance of guardians of territories and ancestral knowledges in the protection of life and how to practice those learnings in our spaces and context. We promote an awakening of Earth worlds and in this way to relate back to Mother Earth.

With our activities we support the Iku in the mission to protect the heart of the world, and to recover the territory, always in the direction of autonomy. Seeking collision with communities in similar struggle.

Co-learning Group

The Pluriversity Umunukunu stands for affirmative practices aimed at thinking in communality with the living territory. Each one of us in our own soils, our own territories, even when we come from elsewhere, as well as by facilitating the exchange of strategies of building autonomous learning spaces, spaces that only the art platform can host for the transdisciplinary approaches and the emphasis on the research process rather than pre-assumed results.

In the year of 2024 we organized a series of ongoing encounters for interested people in which we introduced background stories on the worldview of the Arhuaco as well as their encounters with modern civilization.

We aspire to continue to organize such co-learning spaces. We participate in these events not only as knowledge sharers, but also as learners. We acknowledge we are dealing with increasingly complex questions of hwo to live an ethical live as we live in a consumer based society that thrives ont he very extractivism and destruction of Life  that we aim to undo.

Living Territories

Our Storytelling projects are based on the aim to cultivate relations of mutual benefit

Through storytelling we spread awareness about our work, our support of the work of our friends in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marte and our fundraising objectives.
One of our activities is to reach out to allied communities and networks in pursuit of caring for Mother Earth. We do this to strengthens both our own initiatives well as our allies. We are especially interested in the exchange of Earth Knowledge with knowledge keepers world wide.
A concrete way to do this is to participate in festivals and other events organized by allied communities and networks, but also to have a presence in social media and to create podcasts.
